The “Ban des Cigales”, takes its name from a short song “ban” mimed or sung with joy! And “Cigales” means cicadas, singing all summer in our region. Muscat is a family tradition, and our taste have evolved, so we chose to blend it with viognier: the muscat brings the sweetness and the viognier the aromas: white flowers, apricot. The blend contains 20/25 g depending on the vintage, very little if you compare it to the 150 g of a Sauternes. It is therefore a mellow wine, sweet but not too much! 2021: Jancis Robinson 16/20: “Delicately medium sweet. Apricots and sweet peas. Light and fragrant with just enough acidity for freshness. The perfect wine for a slice of cold cantaloupe melon with prosciutto, or a bowl of strawberries.” (TC).
