This Vin Doux Naturel, is grown on clay limestone soils and rolled pebble. Also called fortified wine, it’s obtained by adding a grape brandy to the fermenting grapes before all the sugar has been converted into alcohol. Harvested by hand, this Grenache is transported in the iconoic small wagons. After a slow and long maceration, and the addition of brandy, G from Gasparet is aged for one year in 225 liter barrels with a regular topping off, or ullage (from the French ouillage). This wine offers a contrasted finale, combining powerful tannins with softness of candied red fruits. The wine reaches perfection with the accompaniment of a chocolate molten cake!
